Nicolas Party’s first exhibition with Karma creates his own world, colorful, warped, classical. He introduces us to his characters, trees, fruit, humans and landscapes, each figure finding identity in a palate of conceptual and provocative colors. Party’s aptitude for art history is a heavy influence produced in the imagery, the space saturated with aura of traditional surrealism.
Walking through the gallery, the odd, bright walls and curved doorways create the feeling of falling with Alice— although rather than Wonderland, you wind up at MoMa.
