Jean Conner
Jean Conner (b. 1933) creates intimate, whimsical collages featuring images of women and the natural world, often appropriated from magazines and advertisements. Conner emerged as part of a small but influential Bay Area scene in the 1950s and ’60s, and until recently, has rarely shown her work in public. Conner’s work is included in the public collections of the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
