MASI presents the first extensive retrospective devoted to Nicolas Party, the Swiss artist who in recent years has established himself as one of the leading names on the international art scene. The exhibition is divided into thematic nuclei related to the main pictorial genres (still life, landscape, portraiture) which Party revisits by favouring anti-naturalistic colours and an extremely precise treatment of his subjects. The selection of pastel paintings and sculptures, created between 2013 and today, will be presented in an environment transformed by the artist through large site-specific mural paintings. The exhibition will extend beyond the museum space, with the placement of a large sculpture on the Belvedere lawn opposite the LAC cultural centre.
